Alright, so I think we can all assume that Elves (not Dark Elves) follow a matriarchal society. Up until Spellforce 3, I assumed that all elves were females, except for Treants - which always tend to have masculine voices (or they could be asexual). Spellforce 1 had no male elven units, and neither did Spellforce 2.
However, from the gameplay videos I've seen in Spellforce 3, it seems that there are men in the Elven race (e.g. the Elven workers are men).
I know this game is set in the past, so can we assume that something happens during the Convocation War or before it where the Elven men separate from their matriarchal society to become the Dark Elves shown in Spellforce 1? Because Spellforce 1 had absolutely no male Elves at all. And all Dark Elves were males (except for the Spider Titan), but that changed in Spellforce 2 when the pact had female units.
How do you guys make sense of the Elven society in terms of the sexes lore-wise?
