Chest Guide

Welcome to my first guide for this awesome game. I figured I'd list all the items contained in chests/corpses. I didn't dig into the game files to achieve this, so the list is probably incomplete, although I'd say it's about 95% accurate :D

First of all, the game mechanics involved in this process need to be explained:

- Chests and corpses behave the same way, so I'll refer to those as 'containers'.
- There are three types of containers: fixed, random and semi-random (i.e., they have both fixed and randomized items in them).
- The items random and semi-random containers provide are set the first time you enter a map.
- There is, however, a special case with spells. Spell scrolls follow the rule explained above, but the spell they contain is set the first time you open a chest.

So, an effective way to farm containers is the following:

1. Make a manual save before first entering a map.
2. Do a quicksave (F7) before looting the container(s) you want to farm.
3. If the container does not have the items you want, then load the manual save.
4. If the container has the spell scroll of the level you want, but not the spell itself, do a quickload (F9).

If you are really serious about grinding in this game, you may want to use the following console command to ease the process. I recommend making the quicksave just as you step through the portal, instead of making it just before looting the container. This way, if you had to kill any enemy to be able to check its contents, you can quickload and the enemies will still be alive, allowing you to proceed through the map normally, and being able to retrieve your reward when you get to the container.

The console commands are the following:

Application:TeleportAvatar(x, y) To teleport around the map. "x" and "y" are the horizontal and vertical coordinates, respectively. Each container has their own, so you don't have to figure them out.

UnExplored:Enable(0) Allows you to see the entirety of the map, to locate all the containers you want to farm, and check the positioning of enemies that could block your way.

Application:SetGodMode(1) Makes your avatar immortal, but not immune to damage.

Application:SetNoManaUsage(1) Allows infinite mana usage, except for summons/auras.

And, for the last maps, use this:

GameView:Mode_ToggleDebug()
DebugInfo:ToggleCategoryMode()

Then look at the number below your avatar's figure (called "ID" in the command), and type the following:

FigureToolBox:TransformFigure(ID, 2416, 1, 1)

That will transform your avatar into a very powerful unit, which will one-shot pretty much any enemy. Of course, loading a save prior to the transformation will remedy this. To toggle the debug mode off, use the GameView command again. All these console commands are just used to save time, but feel free to skip them if you want.

Now that the system and methodology are explained, let's go over the important thing: the container's contents.

The skeleton of the guide is as follows:

[Name of the map]

Coordinates are for teleporting your avatar either directly to the container, or to a position that I found ideal to farm it. Bear in mind that enemies close to a container will prevent you from opening it, so sometimes the coordinates will teleport you closer to the enemy than to the container.

As I stated before, containers can be fixed, in which case a (FIXED) tag will appear in the Type category; semi-random, so the (FIXED) tag will be present only next to the fixed item(s); and random, which means no (FIXED) tags at all.

Item category stands for WEAPONS, ORBS, SHIELDS, HEAD, CHEST, ROBES, LEGS, RINGS, SPELLS, MISCELLANEOUS, PLANS, RUNES and so on.

The Number of Copies category will be between parenthesis: (1)/(2)/(3) and so on. Sometimes you can get several copies of an item, like two spell scrolls of the same level (albeit normally with different spells). This is better explained with an example:

-SPELLS: Level 3: there is a possibility for the container to have a level 3 spell scroll.
-SPELLS: Level 3 (1/2): it can contain any number from zero to two copies.
-SPELLS: Level 3 (1(FIXED)/2): it will always yield one copy, with a chance to get two.

It should be noted is that the only map you are forced to enter in an early stage (and you are unable to explore) is Icegate Marsh. Don't worry, because all the containers of that map are fixed! There are other maps that have some areas that you can't access the first time you enter them, but you can still farm those with the teleport command, and know for sure that when you come later they will have the items you want.

Also, containers are not ordered with respect to when you find them. Normally, fixed containers are at the end.
